My Story
Luenne stands at the forefront of innovation in the tax and legal sectors. With a rich educational foundation that includes a Master's degree in Tax Law from Rijksuniversiteit Groningen and a Master’s degree in Civil Law from Universiteit van Aruba, she is currently expanding her leadership and business knowlegde through an MBA at Universiteit van Aruba.

Her tenure as the Managing Director of Departamento di Impuesto (Aruba Tax Department) since May 2015 marks a period of transformative change for Aruba's tax system. Luenne has been the driving force behind the pioneering digitalization and reorganization of the Tax Department. Under her leadership, the department has embraced technological advancements to streamline processes, enhance tax compliance, and improve public finance management. These initiatives have not only led to increased efficiency but have also set a benchmark for innovation in government operations.

Luenne's role in leading the tax reforms, as part of the "Landspakket" agreement with the Netherlands, showcases her ability to negotiate and implement innovative solutions during challenging times, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Her strategic approach to leveraging technology and reforming practices has significantly contributed to the resilience and modernization of Aruba's fiscal infrastructure.

In her capacity as a part-time lecturer in Tax Law at the University of Aruba, Luenne shares her cutting-edge knowledge and experiences, inspiring a new generation of professionals to think differently. Her commitment extends beyond her professional endeavors, as evidenced by her involvement with the Red Cross Aruba and her previous role on the Supervisory Board of Dr. Horacio Oduber Hospital, where she advocated for forward-thinking policies and practices.
